Double-sided, turnable poster by Nicolai Howalt created for the exhibition Art of Sport at Copenhagen Contemporary in 2021. The poster features two images from Nicolai Howalt’s Boxer series. One image on each side of the poster.

From 2002-2003 Nicolai Howalt documented boys boxing their first competitive match. Through double portraits – before and after the match – Howalt conveys boyhood, puberty and the loss of innocence.

Within the scope of boxing, Howalt examines the personal fight between fear and courage, dream and reality, boy and man. Photographing the boys before and after their first match becomes an exploration of a tantalizing moment in a young man’s life, and thus an exploration of adolescence and rites de passage.

The poster is printet on each side of a high quality 250 g/m2 paper and is signed by the artist.
