Trine Søndergaard // Marimekko poster

A collaboration sproutet in 2022 between Trine Søndergaard and the creative director  of Marimekko, Rebekka Bay, who had been inspired by Søndergaard’s Strude series for the brand’s fall/winter collection.

The collaboration between Bay and Søndergaard resultet in an exhibition during the Copenhagen Fashion week 22 showing new work intermingling the new Marimekko textiles and the visual language of Søndergaard’s Strude and Archives series.

The poster shows one of the images made by Søndergaard for the exhibition with strong connections to her Strude series. The poster is beautifully printet on matte paper and has an almost three-dimensional effect due to the patterns of the fabric present both in the background and on the scarf of the model. The poster vibrates between portrait and graphical ornamentation.
